Milena Govich

Milena Govich, a director, actor and musician, has directed many episodes on TV such as Chicago Med (2015), The Equalizer (2021), FBI The Most Wanted(2020), Chicago Fire (2012) and many more. Also, she was the Co-EP/Producing Director on Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018). She is currently attached to two pilots that are currently in development. Milena was one of eight women chosen by AFI for their highly regarded Directing Workshop for Women. She also took part in the Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors program. Unspeakable was her television series as well as a short film. With Jeff Kober and Laura Vandervoort The film won the Best Episodic Award at Seattle International Film Festival as in addition to Best Pilot at the SoHo International Film Festival. The short film she made, Temporary (2017) has been screened across the nation and has won the Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival, Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest as well as the Director's Choice Award at Sedona International Film Festival. As an actor Milena has been featured in close to 100 episodes of television. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Conviction (2006) was her debut on CBS. She then became the first and only female detective in Law & Order (1990). K-Ville (2007), The Defenders (2010) (CBS), Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and Lori Stevens in the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014) have all featured her or recurred. Milena has appeared in many films such as Sordid Things (2010); A Novel Romance (2011) with Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) which starred alongside Method Man; as well as #Lucky Number (2015). Milena was born in Norman, Oklahoma was the valedictorian of her high school, before she completed a double major vocal performance and a premedical degree at the University of Central Oklahoma. She was also named valedictorian. She utilized her ballet classical training soon after to make her Broadway debut in the Sam Mendes/Rob Marshall production "Cabaret" at Studio 54.
