Ayelet Zurer

Ayelet Zurer is among Israel's most highly regarded actresses. Born in Tel Aviv in 1967, she was first noticed by Hollywood when she was offered the part of Eric Bana's spouse in the Oscar(r) nominated film Munich (2005). Since moving to the United States, Zurer has starred in Studio films such as Sony Pictures' Vantage Point featuring Dennis Quaid and William Hurt, Samuel Goldwyn's Fugitive Pieces with Stephen Dillane, Paul Schrader's Adam Resurrected opposite Jeff Goldblum and Willem Dafoe. Ron Howard's Angeles and Demons is opposite Tom Hanks. Darling companion, a Lawrence Kasdan cast with Diane Keaton and Kevin Kline, and Warner Bros. Man Of Steel which is starring Russell Crow, is Ron Howard. The actress filmed Rodrigo Garcia, Last days in the desert alongside Ewan McGregor while waiting for the release of her movie The Last Knights by the Japanese director Kazuaki Kiriya. She also appeared in Clive Owen. For her role as Hostages the lead actress, she won the Gold Nymph Award at the 54th festival of television in Monte-Carlo. Ayelet was nominated for the Israeli Film and Television Academy Award for her work in Nina's Tragedies. Ayelet also won nominations for her work in the feature films Only Dogs Run Free, The Dybbuk from the Holy Apple Field, Desperado, and Rutenberg. She was awarded the Haifa International Film Festival critic prize and received a star on Haifa’s "film boulevard" for her local and international achievements. Zurer was also awarded the Israeli Television Academy Award for her role as the lead actress in "In Treatment," a highly acclaimed television series that was adapting by HBO to be adapted for American television. 2014 saw her nominated apposite for the most acclaimed drama of the year "Shtisel". Zurer also received the award for best actresses in drama for her performance as a brilliant surgeon who is confronted by a life and death decision in Hostages. This series was broadcast to BBC4 and Canal Plus as well as the American ABC. She is the "face " of one of Israel's top women's clothing companies- Golbary. She is a writer, producer and illustrator. She's also co-author of "Shorts" the first book written for adults by Gabi Nitazn. Ayelet is working on a few projects in Israel and the USA. She expressed interest in international collaboration with directors from around the world since she believes in joining with unknown directors and writers.
